Ingredients:
- 1 loaf of day-old bread, sliced and cubed
- 2 cups of whole milk
- 1/2 cup of sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup of sugar
- 1/4 cup of ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/4 cup of raisins
- 1/4 cup of chopped cashews
- 1/4 cup of chopped almonds
- 1 teaspoon of ground cardamom
Instructions:
- In a large pot or deep pan, combine the whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and sugar over medium heat.
- Stir until the sugar dissolves and the mixture starts to simmer.
- Add the cubed bread to the pot and stir until the bread is coated and starts to absorb the liquid.
- In a separate pan, heat the ghee and fry the raisins, cashews, and almonds until they turn golden brown.
- Add the fried nuts, raisins, and ground cardamom to the bread mixture and stir to distribute evenly.
- Cover the pot with a lid and let the bread pudding simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Remove the lid and let the pudding cook for another 5-10 minutes to thicken.
- Once the bread pudding is cooked and has a thick consistency, remove it from heat.
- Let the bread pudding cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
